Putin and Xi Jinping had a telephone conversation

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

"By mutual agreement, a telephone conversation took place a short while ago between the presidents of Russia and China," Ushakov told reporters.

He noted that during the telephone conversation, the leaders of the two countries mainly touched upon the aggravated situation in the Middle East. Putin and Xi Jinping also discussed the results of the G7 summit, noting the existing disagreements between the meeting participants.

"Putin and Xi Jinping will hold full-fledged negotiations in China on September 2," Ushakov said.
