If we don't help Ukraine, we should learn Russian. Kallas

“If we do not continue to help Ukraine, we should start learning Russian,” said Kaia Kallas, the EU’s high foreign affairs and security policy representative, echoing a warning from NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

“The European Union is playing its part in Ukraine because Ukraine is Europe’s first line of defense. We know that Russia responds only to force and nothing else,” she said.

Kallas stressed the importance of the 18th package of sanctions proposed by the EU, noting that “each sanction weakens Russia’s ability to continue this war.”

“We must do more for Ukraine, also for our security. As NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said, if we do not continue to help Ukraine, we should all start learning Russian. The stronger Ukraine is on the battlefield today, the stronger it will be at the negotiating table when Russia is finally ready to talk,” she said.
