The Kremlin has released details of a phone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The primary focus was on the sharply aggravated situation in the Middle East. Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the military actions taken by Israel against Iran, which violate the UN Charter and other norms of international law.
They expressed concern about the continued escalation of the Iran-Israel conflict. The leaders spoke in favor of an immediate cessation of hostilities and the settlement of controversial issues (including those related to Iran's nuclear program) exclusively through diplomatic means.
An agreement was reached that the relevant departments of the two countries would maintain close cooperation in this regard.
The issue of Ukraine was also discussed. Putin expressed gratitude to the Turkish side for its support in organizing direct talks between Russia and Ukraine. Russia is strictly implementing the agreements reached as a result of the second round of talks, including the transfer of the bodies of the fallen servicemen and the exchange of prisoners of war.
The parties exchanged views on topical issues of the bilateral agenda, including the energy sector.
