Oil prices rose more than 9% to a five-month high after Israel launched a missile strike on Iran. The sharp rise in tensions in the Middle East also raised concerns about disruptions to oil supplies.
Brent crude futures rose $6.29, or 9.07%, to $75.65 a barrel, their highest since Jan. 27.
U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose $6.43, or 9.45%, to $77.62 a barrel, their highest since Jan. 21.
