IDF spokeswoman Effie Defrin announced that Iran had launched about 100 drones toward Israel in recent hours.
The Israel Defense Forces are working to intercept them, she added.
Defrin said 200 fighter jets took part in the Israeli night attack, hitting about 100 targets across Iran.
The commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was killed in the attack. Earlier, the IRGC confirmed the death of commander Hossein Salami, which was first reported by the media.
