Members of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, part of the ruling coalition, have called on the government to “end militarization” and begin negotiations with Russia. This is stated in a document called “Manifesto,” which was published in the magazine Der Stern on the evening of June 10.
“War-mongering rhetoric and huge armament plans do not ensure the security of Germany and Europe, but lead to destabilization and mutual intensification of the threat between NATO and Russia,” says the document, which was signed by dozens of party members.
Thus, the signatories of the “Manifesto” expressed their opposition to the official position of the German government and the current party leadership.
