The Secretary General of the Council of Europe will arrive in Armenia today.

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Bergen, will visit Armenia from 11 to 12 June for a series of meetings.

The Secretary-General will meet with President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Speaker of the National Assembly Alain Simonyan, and Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan. He will also deliver a public lecture and meet with students at Yerevan State University.

The Secretary-General will reiterate the Council of Europe’s support for the early signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which he conveyed directly to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the European Political Community Summit in Tirana in May.
