The Russian Defense Ministry reported an exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine. On the Ukrainian side, President Volodymyr Zelensky also touched upon the topic and confirmed the start of the exchange process.
It is reported that by the agreement reached in Istanbul, the first group of Russian prisoners of war under the age of 25 was returned from the territory under the control of Kyiv.
In return, the same number of Ukrainian prisoners of war were transferred to Kyiv.
“The exchange began today, which will continue in several stages. Among those being returned are the wounded and seriously wounded, as well as people under the age of 25,” Zelensky wrote.
