Macron condemns riots in France

French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the riots after PSG's victory in the Champions League.

It should be noted that Paris Saint-Germain defeated Inter Milan 5-0 in the final and won the Champions League for the first time in history.

Mass riots broke out in Paris and other cities during and after the match. One hundred ninety-two people were injured in France, 559 people were arrested across the country, 692 arsons were set, and 264 vehicles were damaged.

There were also fatalities: a woman on a scooter was killed in a hit-and-run, and a 17-year-old teenager was stabbed near the fan zone.

"Nothing can justify what happened in the last few hours. Violent clashes are unacceptable. We will pursue, we will punish, we will be ruthless.

These incidents are very serious and unacceptable. They have deprived many of our compatriots of what should have been a moment of happiness and carefreeness," Macron said.
