Washington will withdraw from peace talks in Ukraine if the Russian authorities ignore calls for a halt to hostilities, US Ambassador to the United Nations John Kelly said.
"If Russia makes the wrong decision to continue this disastrous war, the United States will be forced to consider the possibility of withdrawing from negotiations to end this conflict," he said.
The US representative added that in this scenario, Washington is not turning its back on "its principles or friends" but on Russia's refusal to work together for "results."
