Israel has agreed to a 60-day ceasefire proposed by the United States in the Gaza Strip, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Thursday.
“I can confirm that US Special Envoy Witkoff and President Trump have conveyed to Hamas a ceasefire proposal that has received Israeli support. Israel agreed to this proposal before it was sent to Hamas,” Levitt told reporters.
She added that she did not know whether Hamas had accepted the American proposal.
