Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has left for Azerbaijan. Turkish state television TRT reported that a new international airport will be opened in the Lachin region today.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will attend the official opening ceremony.
The new airport is the third to be built in the territories controlled by Azerbaijan since the end of the Nagorno-Karabakh War. It will be strategic for both civilian and possible military use.
