The U.S. State Department temporarily suspends visa interview appointments for new student and exchange programs. The move comes as it expands its social media vetting process for foreign applicants, a senior administration official said on condition of anonymity.
State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said: “We use every tool we can to understand who is coming to our country, whether it’s a student or someone in another status.”
