Ukraine will respond to Russia's "peace memorandum." Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said at a press conference on May 27 that Ukraine will definitely respond to the Russian draft of a “memorandum” on steps to establish peace in the war.

He recalled that Ukraine supported an unconditional cessation of fire, establishing a ceasefire, and moving forward along the diplomatic path in any format and with any participants. Ukraine is also ready to meet with the Russian side directly and through the mediation of the United States or Europe.

“Russia presented the appropriate conditions in Istanbul, and we agreed on exchanging thousands of prisoners. That was a good result. However, Russia was not ready for the remaining steps on the agenda of the Istanbul meeting on the ceasefire. They said, “We will return to you with certain signals,” Zelensky said.

According to him, the United States and Turkey provided Ukraine with the same information from the Russian side.
