"Restrictions on Ukraine's long-range weapons have been lifted." Merz

Germany, following the UK, France, and the US, has lifted restrictions on the supply of long-range weapons to Ukraine.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced this in an interview with the WDR television channel.

"There are no longer any restrictions on the range of weapons supplied to Ukraine, neither by the British, nor by the French, nor by us, nor by the Americans. This means that Ukraine can now also defend itself, for example, by striking military positions on Russian territory. It could not do that up to a certain point," he said. According to Merz, providing Ukraine with such weapons is necessary.

In mid-April, the German Chancellor considered it possible to supply the Kyiv regime with Taurus cruise missiles in coordination with European partners.

In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, emphasized that Moscow would assess the strike of German missiles on any Russian facility as Berlin's participation in military operations on the side of Ukraine.
