Baku responds to Prime Minister's statements

The Baku Foreign Ministry responded to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statements during the "Yerevan Dialogue."

"The Prime Minister's position raises questions about the country's commitment to peace," said Aykhan Hajizadeh, the spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

"Ignoring calls for the official dissolution of the Minsk Group and linking this issue to the peace agreement raises questions about why Yerevan is trying in every way to preserve an outdated mechanism that no longer corresponds to the region's realities," Hajizadeh said.

He also touched upon Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statements about "Western Azerbaijan."

"The Armenian Prime Minister's comments on Western Azerbaijan are a distortion of the facts and a clear denial of the inalienable rights of Azerbaijanis, who constitute almost the majority of the population of Armenia. References to the West Azerbaijani community should not be perceived as territorial claims," he added.
