The Georgian Foreign Minister stated that the US has no reason to question the systemic cooperation with Georgia.
Maka Bochorishvili commented on the statement of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding Georgia in the Senate.
"I do not think such an assessment can exist regarding the Georgian government; I do not think there is any basis for such an assessment. We have had and continue to have excellent systemic cooperation with the US, and there is no reason to question this cooperation," Bochorishvili stated.
According to him, judging by everything, the US administration still does not have a formed position in Georgia, and this is the main conclusion that can be drawn from what the Secretary of State said.
He also noted that for 30 years, Georgia has been the US's reliable partner in the region.
It is noteworthy that during the hearings of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, Secretary of State Rubio, answering a question about Georgia, stated: "The goal of the United States is to follow the national interests, so we ask ourselves the question: does the existence of an anti-American government correspond to our interests in an important region of the world?"
