Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated in an interview with Imedi TV that if the US president manages to weaken the "deep state," it will positively impact Georgian-American relations.
"If the "deep state" does not weaken, today's status quo will be preserved. In addition, it should be remembered that the MEGOBARI law was adopted. There are sanctions against the Deputy Prime Minister and our Minister of Internal Affairs. That is why this is not passive silence; this is not a passive state. We must change the status quo. If the American side is also interested in resuming relations, steps should be taken, but it does not depend on us. We did what was within our power; we conveyed our messages to the administration. Let's see what their reaction will be," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
Recall that on May 13, Irakli Kobakhidze published an open letter on his Facebook page addressed to US President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.
