Several Indian universities suspend cooperation with Turkish and Azerbaijani educational institutions

Several leading Indian universities, including Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Millia Islamia, Punjab's Lovely Professional University (LPU), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in Hyderabad, and Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University in Kanpur, have announced the termination of academic ties with Turkish educational institutions.

These decisions are due to the open support of Turkey and Azerbaijan for Pakistan after India carried out military operations. The universities say that such statements are against India's national interests.

JNU was the first to announce the termination of a memorandum of understanding with Turkey's Inonu University, stating that the university "stands with the nation." It was followed by other universities, which also announced the end of all forms of cooperation with Turkish universities.

These developments indicate that India's higher education system has begun to consider the country's foreign policy and national security when forming international partnerships.
