Trump hopes to reach a nuclear deal with Iran

Former US President Donald Trump has expressed hope that a nuclear deal with Iran can be reached, highlighting progress but warning of the possibility of tough action if an agreement is not reached.

“Iran has, so to speak, agreed to the terms: they are not going to, as I call it, make nuclear powder. There will be no more nuclear power in Iran,” Trump said.

He stressed that Iran “cannot have a nuclear weapon” and added that the talks are “very close to a possible agreement.”

Trump presented two options: “There is a very nice step, and there is a violent step, violence like people have never seen. And I don’t want to get to that step. Some want it, even many. But I don’t want it. Well, we’ll see what happens.”
