The Wall Street Journal, citing Ukrainian officials, reported that today’s meeting with Russia in Istanbul will focus only on discussing a possible 30-day ceasefire.
The article also says that the question is whose side Trump will take as he grows increasingly frustrated with Putin’s reluctance to end his invasion of Ukraine. Still, his chief envoy for Russia, Steve Witkoff, has previously agreed to Putin’s proposals to use the 2022 Istanbul drafts as the basis for new talks.
