The Russians have spread a fake on the Internet that a time has been set for the start of negotiations with Ukraine in Turkey. However, this information is not accurate.
The head of the Ukrainian Center reported this for Countering Disinformation Andrey Kovalenko.
On the morning of May 15, some Russian media outlets wrote that the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia would allegedly begin in Istanbul at 10:00. However, he notes that this is a fake, and such a time was not scheduled.
"The Russians are spreading lies in the media about the "start of negotiations in Turkey" at 10:00 Moscow time. This is not true. Such a time was not scheduled," Kovalenko noted.
He did not rule out that the Russians wanted to speculate on the topic of the negotiations since Russian propagandists spread a narrative that everyone needed the negotiations except Ukraine.
It should be noted that pro-Kremlin media outlets reported that the Russian delegation arrived in Istanbul on the morning of May 15.
Notably, the Russian "RIA" also reports that the negotiations will begin after lunch.
