In an interview with Breitbart News, the US president's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan could also join the Abraham Accords.
According to Witkoff, the countries are very close to resolving their conflicts.
"I predict we will soon see a settlement in Lebanon and Syria. They have given a positive response. It could also happen with Libya. It is about countries joining the Abraham Accords. It could happen with Azerbaijan and Armenia, where we are very close to the final resolution of the conflicts in those countries.
Both could join the Abraham Accords. "So this is a massive initiative by the president. He believes in it. It contributes to peace and stability in the region," he said.
* The Abraham Accords are the name of the diplomatic documents through which Israel established diplomatic relations with several Arab countries in 2020, notably the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco. They were signed during the first term of Donald Trump's presidency. The parties establish diplomatic relations, recognize each other's sovereignty, and agree to develop economic, technological, scientific, and cultural cooperation. The name "Abrahamic" was chosen to signify that the tripartite agreement unites followers of the Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
