French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has jointly discussed preparing new sanctions against Russia with the United States.
According to Le Figaro, on May 14 in Turkey, Barrot will meet with US Senator Lindsey Graham to discuss restrictions against Russia that could "permanently strangle the economy of the aggressor country." The package could include, in particular, 500% tariffs on Russian oil imports.
"Russia has found ways to circumvent the blockade imposed by Europe and the United States, so we must close the tap in such a way that we grab Russia by the throat," he said.
