"Hey, comrade Putin, go to Istanbul and, damn it, negotiate." Lula da Silva

Brazilian President Lula da Silva has announced that he intends to personally persuade Vladimir Putin to participate in the peace talks planned for Istanbul. He will stop in Moscow on his way back from China and try to talk to Putin.

“It’s not difficult for me to say, ‘Hey, comrade Putin, go to Istanbul and, damn it, negotiate,’” the Brazilian president said.

The Brazilian president participated in a meeting of representatives of Latin American countries with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. In a joint declaration, Lula and Xi emphasized that negotiations are the “only way” to end the war in Ukraine.
