The Hindu newspaper, citing the Indian government, reports that 21 Indian airports near the border with Pakistan will be closed entirely.
The airports will remain closed until May 10.
This concerns airports in the Indian-controlled state of Jammu and Kashmir and the neighboring states of Leh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.
The closure of airports has led to many flight cancellations by Indian airlines operating domestic flights.
