US and Turkish Presidents Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a phone conversation. They discussed bilateral relations and regional issues. Erdogan invited Trump to Turkey.
Trump described the phone conversation on his social media page as “good and productive.”
“We discussed many topics, including the Russian-Ukrainian war, Syria, and Gaza. The President invited me to Turkey, and he will also come to Washington. My relationship with President Erdogan has been excellent during my four years as president. We have worked closely together on many issues, including that he helped return imprisoned pastor Andrew Brunson to the United States immediately at my request.
In any case, I look forward to working with President Erdogan to end the ridiculous but deadly war between Russia and Ukraine now.
