Trump names his possible successors

US President Donald Trump has hinted at a third term.

"I will be president for eight years, two and a half terms. I've always thought that was very important," Trump said in an interview with NBC.

The 78-year-old Trump had previously said he was "not kidding" about seeking a third or fourth term. But he later said those statements were intended to "fool the fake news media." Trump said he had received "many requests" to discuss the possibility of remaining in office beyond his second term.

"A lot of people want me to do it. But that's not what I want to do," Trump said.

Asked who could be the Republican nominee for president in the next election, Trump said there were "10 to 15 people," including Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

"J.D. is doing a great job. He's doing a great job. Marco is doing a great job, too," Trump said.
