The Kremlin believes a meeting between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump is in demand. But it must be well prepared, the Russian leader’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
“Such a meeting is clearly on everyone’s lips. In many ways, we believe that it is, of course, necessary. It must be prepared appropriately, requiring efforts at various expert levels. This requires ongoing contacts between Moscow and Washington, which have begun and are currently ongoing.
The US leader had earlier said he would discuss the possibility of meeting Putin in Saudi Arabia during his mid-May visit to the kingdom.
