US President Donald Trump has announced that May 8 should be officially celebrated as Victory Day in World War II. He wrote about this on his page on the social network Truth Social.
“Many of our allies and friends celebrate May 8 as Victory Day, but America did more than any other country to achieve victory. I designate May 8 as Victory Day in World War II, and November 11 as Victory Day in World War I,” Trump wrote.
He emphasized that the United States won two world wars thanks to its strength, courage, and military genius but has never adequately celebrated these victories.
