The Indian army has said that Pakistan has opened fire on border posts, NDTV reported. According to sources, Pakistan began firing in some areas along the Line of Control late yesterday evening. Indian security forces gave an "effective response" to the firing, and there were no casualties or injuries.
The firing came days after a terrorist attack on tourists near the town of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Recall that 26 people were killed as a result of this. This attack has caused a new crisis between India and Pakistan.
The Resistance Front group, which is associated with the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
In response, the security cabinet headed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to reduce the staff of the Indian and Pakistani embassies from 55 to 30 people. New Delhi has demanded that Pakistanis who entered India through this checkpoint leave the country by May 1. In addition, the Indian authorities have banned Pakistani citizens from entering the country without a visa.
Pakistan's defense minister has also stated that the world should be concerned about their conflict with India: "The clash between two nuclear powers is very worrying. If something goes wrong, this confrontation can have a tragic end."
