Pope Francis's coffin will be sealed this evening at 8:00 p.m. during a mass in St. Peter's Basilica.
Cardinal Kevin Farrell, the Holy Roman Church camerlengo, will lead the ceremony. Several cardinals and officials of the Holy See will participate in the sealing ceremony.
The funeral of Pope Francis will take place on Saturday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m. The Pope's funeral will take place in St. Peter's Square, after which the pontiff's body will be transferred to the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome.
Several heads of state, including US President Donald Trump, will travel to the Vatican to attend the Pope's funeral.
