For the first time in Ukraine, there was talk of territorial concessions

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in an interview with the BBC that Ukraine will likely have to cede territory as part of a peace deal with Russia amid growing pressure from Trump.

Notably, this is the first time a senior Ukrainian official has seriously discussed the idea.

“Ceding territory is one of the scenarios. This is not fair. But, for the sake of temporary peace, maybe this can be a temporary solution,” Klitschko said in an interview with British media.

However, Klitschko admitted that he had no place to make such a decision at the negotiating table.

“That is not my function. That is the function of President Zelensky,” he said.
