The US and EU consider Russia a long-term threat. Rutte

“We all agree in NATO that Russia poses a long-term threat to NATO, to the entire Euro-Atlantic area,” the alliance’s secretary general said after talks with US President Donald Trump in Washington.

He added that the Trump administration remains committed to NATO despite Washington’s increasing focus on the Asia-Pacific region.

Mark Rutte also said that the obstacle to peace talks in Ukraine at the moment is Russia’s position.

“There is something on the table now, and I think the Ukrainians are actually in the game. And now, I think, the ball is clearly in Russia’s court,” he said.
