US President Donald Trump has announced that important meetings on the Ukraine issue will take place in the coming days.
"We want to end this war quickly. I think we've made progress; we'll see what happens. There will be crucial meetings in the next few days," Trump said during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Norway at the White House.
Trump expressed confidence that the United States will not withdraw from the Ukraine talks because an agreement will be reached.
"I think we will make a deal. That would be great; you can ask about it in two weeks," he said, responding to a question about the prospects for the US withdrawal from the talks.
The US president said that he does not believe that Russia is blocking a ceasefire agreement in Ukraine.
"I don't think so. I think they both (Russia and Ukraine - ed.) want peace, and they both want to make a deal," Trump said, adding that the United States is putting a lot of pressure on Russia.
