"We call for support for normalizing relations between Yerevan and Ankara." Turkish Foreign Ministry

The Turkish Foreign Ministry stated on the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. It noted that it “rejects the statements of officials of some countries regarding the events of 1915, which allegedly distort historical facts and violate international law.”

“We recall that efforts by radical circles to extract hostility from history should not be encouraged, and we once again call for support for the ongoing process of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia,” the Foreign Ministry statement said.

It is also noted that Turkey has always advocated peace, dialogue, mutual understanding, and shared prosperity at the global level and in its region, “recalling that based on this mutual understanding, Turkey opened its archives and proposed the establishment of a Joint Historical Commission to fairly and scientifically study the events of 1915.”
