Russia’s Easter ceasefire in Ukraine was nothing more than an attempt to impress US President Donald Trump, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said in a statement to FranceInfo.
According to the French Foreign Minister, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s gesture regarding the so-called “Easter ceasefire” was not sincere and had an exclusively political connotation.
“The Easter ceasefire, which he announced somewhat unexpectedly, was a marketing act, a friendly gesture aimed at keeping President Trump from losing his patience and getting angry,” the minister said.
