Harvard University sues Trump administration

Harvard University has filed a lawsuit in a US federal court against the Trump administration over its decision to freeze more than $2 billion in state funding for its programs.

Last week, the university rejected the administration’s demands, which included suspending all programs under its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policy and banning face masks on campus.

In response, the Trump administration has stripped Harvard of $2.2 billion in state funding, threatening to revoke the university’s tax breaks and bar international students from enrolling.
