According to The New York Times, citing sources, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth discussed the upcoming strikes on Yemen on March 15 in another private Signal chat, which included his wife, brother, and personal lawyer.
It is noted that the minister’s brother and his lawyer work at the Pentagon, but Hegseth’s wife is not an employee of the US Department of Defense. Hegseth created the chat in January 2025, before his confirmation as secretary. The journalists also write that the Pentagon chief used his phone, not his government one, to log into the Signal chat.
