Washington’s demands include Kyiv’s refusal to join NATO and its recognition of Crimea as Russian territory. The US also wants to take control of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
The ideas were outlined in a classified document that senior Trump administration officials presented to their Ukrainian counterparts in Paris on April 17.
Kyiv is expected to respond to Washington’s demands this week. If the US, Europe, and Ukraine positions coincide, the proposals will be submitted to Russia for consideration.
Earlier, the US had proposed easing sanctions against Russia as part of a peace agreement with Ukraine.
