34 dead, 117 injured in Sumy, Ukraine

A Russian ballistic missile strike on the center of the northern Ukrainian city of Sumy on Sunday killed 34 people and wounded 117, Reuters reported. Ukrainian authorities said it was the deadliest strike this year.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky demanded a harsh international response, saying it came against U.S. President Donald Trump’s push to end the war quickly.

The leaders of the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy condemned the attack. Trump called the Russian strike “horrific.”

Zelensky posted a video on social media showing bodies lying on a city street next to a destroyed bus and burned-out cars.
