French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, speaking to reporters ahead of a meeting of European foreign ministers in Luxembourg, spoke about the tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border:
"I am very concerned about the growing tensions on the border (Armenian-Azerbaijani). I hope the European mission deployed can be expanded to observe and contain these tensions. Now the peace treaty must be signed, and the illegally detained prisoners must be released," the minister said.
