Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali has said that Tehran favors dialogue with the United States but will defend itself in the event of an attack.
“Tehran is in favor of dialogue, but if there is an attack, Iran will defend itself and respond with all its might,” he said, according to Russian media.
At the same time, he noted that Iran has refused to hold direct negotiations with the United States since previous meetings in such a format have not yielded any results. “Our Supreme Leader has a very wise motto. He explained why we do not hold negotiations. He said that we have a reason for this. And that reason is our experience,” Ambassador Kazem Jalali said.
