Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced at an international forum at ADA University yesterday that one of the critical projects being discussed with Iran is creating a railway line that would bypass Armenia and connect Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan via Iran.
“The construction of the road has already begun. A bridge is currently being built. As for the railway, the agreement between Iran and Azerbaijan is necessary for its construction since Armenia continues to block our access to Nakhichevan. We cannot just sit and wait; we have decided to build a bypass road, and Armenia will remain a dead end in the region,” Aliyev said.
