Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that Armenia's election of Donald Trump as US president was a "big disappointment." According to him, Armenia hoped that the Democrats would remain in power after the US elections.
At the same time, he said that, despite this, there are no disagreements among the Armenian political elite regarding their attitude towards Azerbaijan.
"The problem is only in the vocabulary, behavior, and tactics. The content does not change, and we must be ready for it. In other words, until a peace treaty is signed and Armenia has not completely renounced its territorial claims to Azerbaijan, which are still enshrined in its constitution. It has not shown sincerity in normalizing relations with Azerbaijan; the threat of a new military conflict will always remain," Aliyev emphasized.
