Trump administration approves $1 trillion defense budget

During a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Donald Trump announced that his administration had approved a US defense budget of “close to” $1 trillion.

“We understand the cost, but we have to build the military, and we have to be strong because you have an evil military there right now,” Trump said.

The US president added that his administration would approve the budget, “the largest that we have ever allocated to the military.”

The Trump administration has yet to release its budget request for fiscal year 2026. The budget proposal is expected by the end of this spring.
