Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the capture of two Chinese servicemen by Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region is a “worrying sign.”
“China has become the third country, after Iran and North Korea, whose troops support Russia. But there is an important difference: the Chinese are already directly fighting on Ukrainian territory,” he said.
“The Chinese military is already fighting on Ukrainian territory, and this requires a response from the United States and Beijing,” he stressed.
Zelensky instructed the Foreign Ministry and the Defense Ministry to contact their Chinese counterparts and demand official clarifications immediately.
He stressed that Ukraine could not wage war against several countries at the same time and expects the United States to discuss this issue first and foremost with Kyiv, not Moscow.
