A volcano in the Philippines has emitted a column of ash about 4 km high (VIDEO)

The Canlaon volcano on Negros Island in the central Philippines has spewed a column of ash and smoke about 4 km high, the press service of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported on the X social network.

The eruption resulted in a volumetric curved plume about 4,000 meters high moving to the southwest. The volcano's eruption began on April 8, at 00:51 Yerevan time. The third level of danger has been declared in the area of ​​​​the volcano. This implies increased volcanic activity and the possibility of sudden eruptions.

Canlaon is one of the largest volcanoes in the Philippines. Its height is 2435 m, and the base's diameter is 30 km. It last erupted in December last year.
