Ukraine has called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council and a special session of the OSCE Permanent Council following Russia’s deadly attack on Kryvyi Rih. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha wrote about this in X on April 7.
According to Ukrainian media, Russia attacked Kryvyi Rih on April 4, killing 20 people and wounding 75. Although Russia claims to have targeted military facilities, recently released surveillance footage shows that there were no military facilities at the scene of the strike.
“Nine children were killed in a Russian ballistic missile strike on Kryvyi Rih last week. This is the largest number of Ukrainian children killed in a single attack since 2022. Russia hit playgrounds in a typical residential area, using cluster munitions to increase the number of casualties,” Sibiga added.
The UN Security Council and the OSCE meetings are scheduled for April 8.
Sybiha called for a “decisive international response” to Russia’s “atrocities.”
