The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the Trump administration can use 18th-century martial law to deport Venezuelan migrants. However, the court ordered a preliminary hearing in each case.
The administration must provide “reasonable time” for Venezuelans to file claims. The hearings must take place in Texas, not Washington.
The ruling bars the immediate deportation of migrants to a notorious prison in El Salvador.
